My Omaha, made in association with Kartemquin Films and directed by Nick Beaulieu, and produced by Doug Block, premieres nationally on PBS’s Independent Lens on October 5, 2026. Check your local listings for exact air times.
The film follows Nick as he returns to his hometown to document Omaha’s rising racial justice movement, guided by community activist Leo Louis II, while working through a strained relationship with his conservative father during his father’s battle with terminal cancer. It’s a clear eyed, deeply personal look at what it takes to stay connected when politics and family pull in opposite directions.
Congratulations to Nick and the whole My Omaha team on this tremendous milestone! Don’t miss it on October 5 on PBS.
