Washington University will screen four Kartemquin films, including the 1994 sports documentary Hoop Dreams, the 1974 short film Viva La Causa, the 1988 documentary Golub, and The Trials of Muhammad Ali.
Kartemquin’s Artistic Director, Stacy Robinson, was interviewed for the feature and highlighted that “all of Kartemquin’s work is a belief that documentary film can help us better stand one another and the world we share. Preserving these stories through the archives and also sharing them through screenings like this ensures that conversations continue with future generations.”
All screenings are free and will be shown at Hi-Pointe Theatre. Read the full article here.
