haydée “hr” souffrant is a Chicago-based Haitian American writer, producer, and facilitator. Many of her artist programs incorporate creative writing, visual and performance art and facilitated discussions on healing and restorative justice practices for people of color, artists, educators, youth, and adult audiences.
As an arts administrator, haydée has coordinated and produced performances, artist festivals and programs and her career for both profit and nonprofit organizations, theaters, artist collective and performance venues such as Illinois Caucus of Adolescent Health, Theater on the Lake, Berger Park Theater, Links Hall, MPAACT at The Greenhouse Theater, The Chicago Mosaic School, The Black Revolutionary Theatre Workshop (New York), Dramatic Questions Theatre (New York) and additional theaters, universities and community arts spaces. souffrant holds a BA in African American Studies and English from Oberlin College, and an MFA in Creative Writing from Columbia College. Her credentials also include certifications in Social Emotional Learning Curricula Design, Conflict Mediation and Film & TV Production.
