Jamie Novogrod has spent more than two decades in broadcast news and the media business.
As Executive Producer of LA Times Studios, the entertainment division of the Los Angeles Times, Jamie led video production across all of the Times’s new initiatives, including virtual and live events, co-productions with emerging filmmakers and a daily news magazine show on Spectrum News 1 SoCal. Under Jamie’s leadership, Studios won several LA News Emmy awards and LA Press Club awards.
Previously, as West Coast Bureau Chief for VICE News, Jamie was responsible for coverage of the western United States and Mexico, managing a team of correspondents, producers and post-production staff. At NBC News, Jamie worked as producer for Chief Foreign Correspondent Richard Engel. He and Richard were on the ground during the 2014 revolution in Ukraine and in Gaza during Israel’s war against Hamas that year. Other assignments included weeks-long trips to Russia, Turkey, Nepal, Afghanistan and northern Iraq. Prior to that, Jamie covered the 2012 presidential election as an NBC News “embed” and deployed on major domestic news events. He’s won Emmy Awards, a Peabody Award, an Edward R. Murrow Award and an Overseas Press Club Award.
Jamie most recently served as Assistant News Director at NBC4 Los Angeles. He is currently advising several media entities, including The Disagreement, a mission-oriented startup normalizing productive disagreements on divisive topics.
He graduated from Wesleyan University.
